The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier

If you’ve got kids anywhere from toddler age up through middle school, this place genuinely earns a repeat visit. The themed areas — a grocery store, a fire truck, pirate ship — are the kind of setups that keep kids busy for hours without them realizing they’re learning anything. Tunnels add that extra layer of exploratory chaos that younger kids especially lose their minds over (in the good way). It spans indoor and outdoor exhibits, so there’s something to do regardless of the weather, which matters a lot in Binghamton. Honestly one of the better family stops in the Southern Tier — locals know it, but it still never feels overwhelmingly crowded.
