One of the more thoughtful playgrounds in Rochester, this spot was clearly designed with real intention — separate zones for the little ones (2-5) and the bigger kids (5-12) means everyone actually has something to do instead of one age group dominating the whole space. The climbing structures are genuinely interesting, not the cookie-cutter stuff you see everywhere else. Rubber ground throughout makes it forgiving for the inevitable tumbles, and the shade trees do serious work on hot summer days. Bonus points for the river proximity and, if you time it right, some decent plane spotting overhead. Restrooms and benches are on-site, which any parent knows is not something to take for granted.
