Hewett Park

Hewett Park is one of those low-key spots in Boise that the surrounding neighborhood seems happy to keep to themselves. The shade trees do real work here — you can actually sit outside without roasting, which isn’t something you can say about every park in the area. Kids in the 2-10 range will find the slides and open grass field plenty to keep them busy, and the restrooms are consistently clean, which matters more than people admit. It’s quiet, never feels overrun, and dogs are welcome too, so you can make a whole outing of it.
