If you’re spending a summer day near the beach in Willmar, Rice Park is the spot locals keep coming back to. The splash pad gets busy fast on hot days, and for good reason — kids can bounce between that and the sandbox without ever getting bored. There’s a merry-go-round that the older kids (and honestly some dads) can’t resist. Parents actually get to sit down here, thanks to shaded seating and benches scattered around, and the restrooms are clean and have a baby changing station, which matters more than people admit. Good picnic tables, solid shade trees, works well for ages 2 through 12.
