DiG PDX – Oregon’s Largest Indoor Sandbox

If you’ve got a sand-obsessed kid under 10, this place is basically a dream come true — and it’s indoors, which in Portland means you can actually use it most of the year. Three themed areas (construction, beach, and dinosaurs) give kids plenty to rotate through, and the sand itself is that super-fine stuff that’s genuinely fun to dig in. There’s a wet section for building sandcastles, plus a dino head sculpture the kids can climb on. Parents tend to hang out comfortably — good sightlines throughout, clean restrooms, benches, and picnic tables mean you’re not just hovering awkwardly. It’s one of those spots that’s also become a go-to for birthday parties, and the staff actually seem to care, which makes a difference.
