I-94: Middle Spunk Lake – Westbound Playground

If you’re driving I-94 and the kids are losing their minds in the backseat, this westbound rest stop is genuinely worth pulling off for. It’s right along Middle Spunk Lake, and the walking path through the woods gives you actual scenery instead of just a parking lot and vending machines. The play area covers the 2-12 crowd pretty well, and there are plenty of picnic tables if you want to eat something that isn’t a drive-through bag. Locals from Avon know this spot — it’s one of the nicer rest stops on this stretch of highway, not just a place to use the bathroom and leave.
