God’s Acres

Thirty acres of park right on the edge of Battle Lake — God’s Acres is genuinely one of those places you keep coming back to because there’s always something your kid hasn’t tried yet. The playground side has the usual swings and slides but also a play train, tunnels, a maze, and a sandbox with a water feature, which means plan on staying longer than you think. Older kids and adults aren’t left out either, with a basketball court, soccer field, and walking paths that connect into the surrounding forest and trail system. The shade trees actually do their job here, and the open grass field is big enough that nobody feels crowded even on a busy summer afternoon. Locals know this place well, but it somehow never feels overrun — just a solid, sprawling park where the whole family can split up and do their own thing.
