Playground (Township Park)

Right on the shore of Lake Superior, this little township park punches above its weight for families with toddlers and preschoolers. The slide is a hit with the under-6 crowd, and honestly the lakefront views are reason enough to linger way longer than your kids will let you. Restrooms are clean and well-kept — not a given at a park this size — and parking is easy. Come late afternoon if you can, because the sunsets over the water from here are something the locals don’t talk about enough.
