They redid this place not too long ago and it shows — the climbing structure is solid, the restrooms are actually clean, and someone clearly thought about the little ones because the toddler area is properly separated from where the bigger kids are running around. Shaded seating makes a real difference on warm San Rafael afternoons, and the picnic tables mean you can actually settle in for a bit. Good for anywhere from toddlers up through elementary age, and it pairs well with a stop at Johnston Library right next door.
