Lakewood Playground

If you’re trying to avoid the sun while still getting the kids outside, this park is genuinely one of the better spots in Dallas for that. The mature trees do real work here — you’re not just getting a strip of shade on one side of the play structure. There are separate areas for littles and older kids, which makes it way less chaotic than parks where everyone’s crammed onto the same equipment. The creek nearby and the open grass field give you options beyond just the playground itself, and the walking path is a nice touch if you want to get some steps in while the kids run it out.
