The walking path connects right into some genuinely shaded tree cover, so even on a hot Texas afternoon you can get a decent walk or bike ride in without completely suffering. Bring lunch — the picnic tables have good shade, and it doesn’t feel like you’re eating in a parking lot. There are swings for the kids, and honestly the whole place draws a real mix of people: runners, families, folks just sitting under the trees doing nothing, which is underrated.
