Barelas sits in one of Albuquerque’s oldest neighborhoods, right in the south valley where the city has real character and history. It’s a solid spot for kids, and being close to the BioPark Zoo means you can easily make a whole afternoon out of it. The surrounding area has that lived-in, genuine Albuquerque feel that you don’t get on the west side.
