If you’ve got kids who want to run, this is pretty much your go-to spot in Hammond. The soccer fields and open grass areas give older kids plenty of room to burn off energy, and the splash pad is a legit hit with the little ones — it gets booked up for birthday parties pretty regularly, so check ahead if you’re planning something. Restrooms are actually clean, which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given at parks around here. Fair warning though: parking can get rough on event days, so show up early or you’ll be hiking in from far out.
