Kalākupua Playground

Consistently called one of Maui’s best, Kalākupua in Haiku earns that reputation through sheer variety — unusual climbing structures, lots of swings, monkey bars, all on a recycled tire surface that gives it a slightly different feel from the standard rubberized lot. The fencing and tiered parent seating are well thought-out, restrooms and covered BBQ picnic areas are on-site, and a big open field gives older kids room to roam. Shade directly over the equipment could be better, but that’s a minor complaint for a park this good.
