Playground Near Shelter House #1

Right next to Shelter House #1 at Lake Shawnee, this spot makes a lot of sense if you’re already out there for a softball game or a picnic and the kids need somewhere to burn off energy. The lake is right there, so you get that nice open water view while you’re keeping an eye on things. It’s the kind of place locals end up at almost by accident — you came for the game, stayed for the afternoon. Worth knowing about if you’re spending a full day on that side of the park.
