If you’re in Kirkwall and need a proper break, this is genuinely one of the better spots to land. The cafe does solid lunches and the cake portions are the kind that actually justify the trip on their own. Staff are the sort who actually seem happy to be there, which makes a difference. Worth a wander round the gift section too — decent cards and bits that don’t feel like the usual tourist tat. They’re also part of Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland, which is good to know if you’re out with a wee one.
