The café is genuinely good — proper homemade food, not the usual garden centre afterthought — and the plant selection is serious enough that keen gardeners make special trips. Dogs are welcome, which makes it an easy choice for a weekend outing when you don’t want to leave the dog behind. The Christmas shop pulls in the crowds come autumn, and honestly it’s worth a look even if you’re not usually into that sort of thing. Parking’s easy, there’s shade on warmer days, and the loos are right there — all the practical stuff is sorted.
