Kirkcaldy Beach

The views across the Forth here are genuinely something — you get this wide, open stretch of water that makes you forget you’re standing in the middle of a town. Yes, there’s some industrial scenery on the horizon, but honestly it adds to the character rather than taking away from it. The path along the front is well-maintained and gets busy with walkers, joggers, and cyclists at all hours, and it’s properly accessible too. Parking is straightforward, there are benches and picnic tables dotted along the front, and the loos in the nearby lorry park do the job when you need them.
