Locals know this one as a solid all-rounder — there’s a proper football pitch if the kids want a game, plus enough open grass that you’re not all crammed into one spot. The picnic tables make it worth packing lunch, especially on a decent Dumbarton day when you actually want to sit outside for five minutes. Benches dotted around mean parents can keep an eye on things without standing the whole time. Toilets on site too, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re out for a couple of hours.
