Locals know Kirkleatham Park is one of those spots in Redcar that just quietly gets everything right. The swings are well-kept — nothing worse than turning up with kids and finding knackered equipment — and there are benches dotted around if you need to sit and catch your breath. The open grass field gives kids room to actually run about, which you don’t always get. It’s peaceful enough that you can genuinely relax, and the woods nearby are worth a wander if you fancy stretching your legs a bit further.
