Newtown Park Playground

Locals round here have a real soft spot for this one, and honestly it’s easy to see why. The play train is always a hit with the little ones, and between the climbing structure, slides, and swings there’s enough to keep kids busy while you grab a bench and actually breathe for five minutes. It sits right next to the river, which adds a nice bit of scenery — just keep an eye on the toddlers. The council’s been putting work into improving the park gradually, and it shows. Grab one of the picnic tables on a dry day and it’s a proper solid afternoon out.
