Bournes Green Park Children’s Play Area

The football pitch gets a decent amount of use from local kids, and there’s enough open grass around it that games can actually spread out properly without everyone cramping each other. Basketball hoops are there if you fancy a change, and the scooter ramps give younger ones something to do. Parking isn’t a problem, which makes a difference if you’re lugging stuff over. Honestly though, the play area itself could do with some attention — it’s functional but feels a bit tired compared to what’s around Southend these days. Good for a kickabout, less so if you’re after proper play equipment.
