King’s Rd Playground

Right on the seafront, this one’s a proper local favourite for families doing a beach day without actually committing to the beach. The splash pad gets absolutely mobbed on hot days — fair warning — but the sand pit keeps younger kids happy for ages, especially when they’ve already had their fill of the actual sea. Slides, shaded seating, and a baby changing station mean you’re not constantly hunting for somewhere to sort yourself out. Picnic tables make it easy to set up camp and stay a while, which honestly most people end up doing.
