Watermans Park

There are actually two separate play areas here, which is handy if you’ve got kids of different ages who don’t want to be in the same space. The zipline is the big draw — kids queue for it, so expect to hang around a bit on busy days. Younger ones have their own setup with slides and swings, while the climbing structure keeps the older kids busy. The skate park adds another layer if you’ve got a boarder in the family. It’s a quiet corner of Christchurch that doesn’t feel overrun, even on weekends.
