If you’re local to Exeter and haven’t spent a summer afternoon at Heavitree Pleasure Ground, you’re genuinely missing out. The three paddling pools are the big draw — kids absolutely lose it for them on a hot day, and honestly, adults aren’t far behind. Grab something from the cafe, claim one of the picnic tables, and you’ve basically got the perfect low-effort afternoon sorted. It’s a proper large park too, so there’s plenty of room to spread out across the open fields without feeling on top of everyone else.
