Honestly, for a free local playground this one punches above its weight. The swings are a proper highlight — there’s even a disabled swing, which you don’t always see at smaller sites like this. Kids aged 4 and up get a decent mix of slides and a climbing structure to keep them busy, and the open grass field is genuinely useful for a kickabout or just letting little ones run off some energy. Parking’s free too, which makes the whole trip a lot less stressful. It’s clean, it’s well-maintained, and being so close to Charlestown harbour means you can easily tack it onto a longer day out.
