Hawkenbury Recreation Ground

If you’re local to the Wells and need somewhere the kids can actually run off some energy while you keep your sanity, Hawkenbury does the job well. The playground is properly enclosed, which makes a difference when you’ve got little ones, and you can see pretty much everything from the benches without having to hover. There’s a solid climbing structure alongside the slides and swings, so older kids don’t get bored in five minutes. Beyond the play area you’ve got a basketball court, a football pitch, and a walking path if you fancy doing laps while the kids do their thing. It’s a proper all-ages rec ground — nothing flashy, just genuinely useful.
