Skate Park

If you’ve got kids anywhere between 6 and 16, this Ruakākā spot is genuinely worth the stop. The skate park is the main drawcard — smooth surfaces, decent layout, good for everything from beginner rolls to actual tricks. Alongside that there’s a solid climbing fort setup with slides, swings, and a seesaw keeping the younger end of that age range busy while the older ones do their thing on the bike track. Shaded seating means you can actually sit and watch without cooking in the Northland sun, which locals will tell you is not a small thing.
