Muriwai Beach Playground & Parking

If you’re heading out to Muriwai for the day, this spot makes a solid base camp for families. The playground sits right near the beach and the forest trails, so kids can burn energy on the swings while you figure out whether you’re doing sand or bush next. There’s proper parking, restrooms, picnic tables, and enough shade trees and covered seating that you’re not just standing in the sun hoping for a breeze. It’s been done up recently, and you can tell — everything feels well-kept and thought through. Good for kids from toddler age up to about 12, and honestly pretty hard to beat as a starting point for a full day out on the west coast.
