Kaiaua Playground

If you’re driving along the Firth of Thames, this little playground is worth pulling over for. The climbing structure and slides keep kids busy while the grown-ups actually get to sit down — there’s proper shaded seating and picnic tables, which you don’t always get out this way. The beach is right there too, so you can stretch the visit into a proper afternoon if the weather’s cooperating. Toilets on site, which matters more than people admit when you’ve got small kids in tow.
