You’re right on the edge of some seriously good scenery, with Tongariro National Park sitting out in front of you while you wait at the BBQ area. Grab the grill on a calm day and you’ve basically got a free afternoon sorted. The open grass field gives everyone room to spread out, and honestly the views alone make it worth the stop if you’re passing through Waimarino.
