Himatangi Beach Playground

If you’re heading out to Himatangi Beach for the day, this little playground is worth factoring into the trip. The flying fox is the clear favourite — kids will queue up for it repeatedly — and there are swings to keep the others busy in the meantime. The bark surface underfoot is decent, and the open grass beside it gives littles ones room to just run around. Picnic tables mean you can actually sit down and eat like a normal human instead of balancing food on your lap, and parking right there makes the whole thing pretty painless.
