Mount Pisa Playground

If you’re driving through Otago and need a decent spot to pull over and let the kids stretch their legs, this little riverside playground does the job. It’s pretty basic — don’t come expecting anything flash — but the shade trees are genuinely good, and there’s enough open space to actually spread out a picnic blanket without sitting on top of strangers. Toilets on site, which honestly makes or breaks a roadside stop. It’s the kind of place locals know to use as a break point on longer drives through the region.
