Hanley Park Playground

Right on the edge of Kawarau Falls with The Remarkables sitting right there in the background — it’s honestly a bit of a flex for a playground. Kids aged 2–12 are well sorted with slides, swings, a climbing structure, zipline, and a sandpit that connects to a water feature, which basically means wet shoes are guaranteed. The bike track keeps older kids busy while younger ones do their thing, and there’s enough open grass to kick a ball around or just let them run. Restrooms, BBQ facilities, picnic tables, and parking are all on-site, so it’s genuinely easy to make a half-day of it. One of the better-equipped spots in the Otago region, and the views don’t hurt either.
