Collingwood’s not exactly overflowing with playgrounds, so Ruataniwha Drive is where locals tend to end up with the kids. It’s a straightforward spot — nothing flashy, but that’s kind of the point out here. The inclusive setup means children of different abilities can actually play together without anyone getting left out, which matters more than people give it credit for. If you’re passing through on your way to Farewell Spit or just killing time in town, it’s worth a stop.
