One of the better-kept playgrounds in the city centre, this spot inside Merrion Square punches well above its weight for such a central location. The wooden structures fit the garden setting nicely — nothing garish, just solid equipment that suits the under-6 crowd, with slides and a climbing frame that keep toddlers genuinely occupied. Parents get a decent view of the whole area from the benches, and the shade trees actually do their job on a sunny afternoon. Picnic tables, clean surroundings, and an open grass field nearby make it easy to stretch a visit into a proper outing. If you’re in D2 with small kids, it’s hard to find a reason not to stop here.
