If you want somewhere the kids can actually stretch their legs without bumping into half the town, this is the one locals tend to head to. The soccer field gets a good bit of use on weekends, but there’s still plenty of open grass to spread out on if you’ve just come for a kickabout or a bit of fresh air. It’s quieter than you’d expect for a park this size, which makes a real difference when you’re trying to relax. The outdoor gym is a handy bonus — decent bit of kit for a public park in Thurles. A few shade trees dotted around mean it’s not a bad spot even on a warm day.
