If you’re anywhere near Kilmeaden and haven’t been to Mount Congreve yet, you’re genuinely missing out. The gardens are seriously impressive — thousands of plant varieties, big sweeping lawns, and woodland trails that take you through some of the best scenery in Waterford. It’s the kind of place where you can wander for a couple of hours and still feel like you’ve only scratched the surface. Bring a picnic, grab one of the tables, and make a proper afternoon of it — there’s plenty of open grass for kids to roam while adults do the slower, more appreciative walk-around thing. Good parking, decent shade on warm days, and it suits everyone from toddlers to grandparents.
