If you’re heading to Bronte Beach anyway, it’s worth arriving early enough to grab one of the picnic tables before the weekend crowds do. The starfish-shaped sandpit is genuinely one of the better ones in the eastern suburbs — kids between 2 and 6 will happily lose an hour there, especially when the water feature gets going. Older kids can work through the tunnels and slides while parents keep an easy eye on everything from the benches nearby. There’s parking, shade trees, BBQs, and the rock pools are just a short walk down, so you can stretch a morning visit into a full day out without much effort.
