Ward Park

One of the better all-rounder parks in Surry Hills, Ward Park punches well above its weight for such an urban spot. The enclosed play area keeps the little ones contained while you actually relax — swings and a climbing structure for the toddler-to-school-age crowd, plus shade trees and covered seating so you’re not melting in summer. Beyond the kids’ stuff, there’s a skate park, calisthenics gear for the adults, and a decent open grass field with a walking path around it. BBQ facilities and picnic tables make it a solid choice for a weekend afternoon, and it’s dog-friendly too, which is basically mandatory around here.
