Willoughby Park Playground

One of the better playgrounds on the North Shore, this one actually delivers for kids across a pretty wide age range — the zipline and climbing structure keep older kids busy while the little ones work through the tunnels and swings. It’s fully fenced, which makes a real difference if you’ve got runners, and parents can see pretty much everything from the picnic tables and shaded seating without having to hover. The BBQ area gets a solid workout on weekends, and there’s enough shade from the trees that you can actually sit comfortably on a summer afternoon. The bike track is a bonus if your kids want to burn off more energy after the playground, and the soccer field and open grass mean teenagers aren’t stuck with nothing to do either.
