Big trees, proper shade, and a BBQ setup that actually works — Jesmond Park gets the basics right in a way a lot of local parks don’t. Kids gravitate toward the climbing structure and the seesaw, but honestly the nest swing tends to cause the most arguments about whose turn it is. There’s a solid open grass field for a kick around, plus a bike track and walking path that loops around near the pond. Pack a cooler and grab one of the picnic tables under the shade trees — you could easily burn a few hours here without feeling like you’re roughing it.
