Forest Lake Parkland

If you live anywhere near Forest Lake, you’ve probably already done a lap or two around this park without even thinking about it — the walking path around the lake is just one of those routes people end up doing on repeat. It’s a solid all-ages spot with plenty of open grass for kids to run off steam while the adults claim a picnic table and actually sit down for once. Parking and restrooms are both on-site, which makes a longer visit genuinely easy rather than just theoretically possible. The lake setting does a lot of the heavy lifting — there’s something about being near water that makes the whole afternoon feel more relaxed than it has any right to.
