Mount Pleasant’s riverside park got a solid upgrade recently and it shows — the mini flying fox is easily the most popular piece of equipment here, and you’ll often see a queue of kids waiting for their turn. Grab a picnic table close to the water and you’ve got some genuinely nice river views while the little ones wear themselves out. There’s an outdoor gym if you’re looking to make a morning of it, plus a food van that tends to do good trade on weekends. Restrooms and benches are on-site, and the walking path along the river is worth doing before or after. Locals also come here for fireworks events, so it’s one of those parks that earns its keep year-round.
