Locals know this little Kenwick spot is worth the detour, especially if you want somewhere to actually sit down and eat properly — the BBQ area and picnic tables make it easy to turn a quick park trip into a proper afternoon out. The landscaping is genuinely well done, which sounds like a small thing until you’ve taken kids to enough scrubby, sun-baked reserves. Having the lake nearby gives it a different feel to your average suburban playground, and there’s usually something to spot out on the water. Good for all ages, and quiet enough that you can actually relax while the kids do their thing.
