Cane Creek Park

If you live in Waxhaw and haven’t spent a Saturday at Cane Creek Park yet, you’re missing out. The lake is the real draw — kids go nuts for the water feature, and there’s enough open space around the pond that you’re not fighting for a picnic table or a spot under the shade trees. The bike track keeps older kids busy while the little ones (we’re talking 2 through about 12) splash around or chase each other between the grills and the playground. Trails run right along the forest edge, so it genuinely feels removed from everything even though you’re not far from town at all. Restrooms are consistently clean, parking is easy, and the whole place just has that low-key vibe where you can actually relax.
