Twin Hickory Park & Recreation Center

One of the better playgrounds in the Glen Allen area — this one actually has it all without feeling overwhelming. The splash pad is the real draw in summer, and between the slides, climbing structure, merry-go-round, and seesaw, kids of pretty much any age will find something to do. The rubberized surface is solid for little ones who are still finding their footing, and there’s enough shade from the trees and covered seating that you won’t be melting on a bench by noon. Restrooms, picnic tables, and decent parking make it easy for a longer visit, and the walking path along the wooded edge is a nice bonus if you want to stretch your legs while the kids wear themselves out.
