Tom Sawyer Playground

If you want a playground that doesn’t feel like you’re sweating in a parking lot, this is your spot. The shade trees actually do their job here, and there’s enough seating — benches, picnic tables, covered spots — that you’re not fighting other parents for a place to sit. Kids aged 2 to 12 have plenty to work with between the slides, swings, and climbing structure, and the open grass field means older ones can spread out and do their own thing. The walking path along the edge is a nice bonus if you want to stretch your legs while keeping an eye on everyone. It’s one of those quieter Louisville parks that locals tend to keep to themselves, and honestly, that’s part of the appeal.
