Castlewood Playground

Right on the water in Colonial Beach, this little playground punches above its weight for such a small town spot. The whole thing is fenced in, which is a lifesaver when you’ve got toddlers who think they can just wander off toward the beach — and yes, actual beach access is right there. Slides and swings cover the basics, but honestly the water view while you’re pushing a kid on the swings is pretty hard to beat. Pack a lunch because the picnic tables get you that same view, and the restrooms are genuinely clean, which anyone who’s dealt with gross park bathrooms knows is worth mentioning.
