Ballyshannon Playground

The open grass field here is genuinely one of the better ones in Union — wide enough that kids can actually run without bumping into each other every five seconds. It’s pretty low-key as far as amenities go, but the pond nearby makes it worth the trip, especially on a clear day when the water catches the light just right. Families tend to spread out, bring a picnic, let the kids burn energy while they actually get to sit and enjoy the view. If you’re coming from the Boone County side, this spot flies under the radar compared to the bigger parks, which honestly makes it better.
